Give them your old and new addressesĮnter the addresses (including apartment or suite number, if applicable). Mail will start to arrive 7-10 days after the start date (or the file date, whichever is later). The date you want the mail to begin going to the new address is the start date, and it should be no more than 30 days prior or 3 months past the current date. Pick the datesįor temporary forwarding, you’ll select a start and end date. This often applies to traveling workers, college students going home for the summer, or extended vacations. Use this option if you’re returning to your old address in 6 months or less. Even if you only plan to be there for a short time before moving again, you’ll want to select “permanent” and then fill out another COA when you move again. A permanent change is for anyone who isn’t returning to their old address. Determine if this change is permanent or temporary Use one you check because they’ll send a confirmation email. This isn’t the place for your “spam collection” email address. Give them your name (use the name you want on the COA form, not a nickname), email and phone number. If the owner or employees get mail in their names, have them make an individual request, too. This only applies to mail that comes to the business name. For family members with different last names, fill out multiple individual forms. Family: if everyone in your household shares the same last name.If you get mail for more than one name (maiden name, married name, etc.), fill out a separate request for each. VU Mail Services will not be responsible for cash sent through the USPS or campus mail. If you choose to do so it will be at your own risk. Cash should NEVER be sent through campus mail, for any reason.Because this mail has no postage applied, the originating department/person will choose at their discretion if the mail piece should be mailed to the student’s forwarding address. Campus mail will not be forwarded it will be sent back to the originating department with a correct forwarding address.Newspapers and magazines will not be forwarded you should discontinue the subscription in advance or forward with the publisher/vendor.Mail may be forwarded for students who leave the campus for study abroad, medical leave, personal leave, transfer to another school, graduate, and for any other extended leave.If you choose to forward your mail permanently you will not be allowed to change the address, you will need to contact Station B to make any changes. This is due to the turnaround time for the USPS. Postage can be purchased online and printed here for the forwarding of packages. Packages can not be forwarded without paying additional delivery fees.
